I speak with a lot of female cyclist and often hear the same thing, I'm not strong enough, I don't want to keep everyone up, I don't think I can do it. Women can be strong, women can achieve amazing things on a bike! But it needs to start with the right mindset to go with it.
If we perceive ourselves with an attitude that we can't achieve things other people will see us in this way also. So it's important that we put ourselves in situations that yes, maybe result in failure in the short term, but then ultimately make us strong, women and cyclists in and out.
Don't let the barriers of how you perceive yourself stand in the way of getting to where you want to be. One of the reasons we have set up Girls Get Strong Cycling is to openly encourage women to talk about their successes and also our worries and anxieties in a friendly and supportive environment.
