Maybe we are tired of the age old new years resolutions. The gym goers that start out keen at the beginning of the year and statistically most people fail to stick to them past February. At Girls Get Strong Cycling we really want more women to take up cycling and get stronger on their bike in 2022!
Why set yourself New Year's Resolutions
The New Year is a great time to forget all the struggles and mistakes of the past and start with a fresh outlook.
There is nothing from stopping us from making changes any time of year, but the New Year is a great time to wipe the slate clean and achieve even more for the year ahead.
Have a vision of the cyclist you want to be, what events do you want to enter this year, what hills do you want to tackle.
Things get old and dated, we can get stuck in a routine than no longer holds it's purpose. So it's a good time to review what is working for us and embrace change if it's necessary.
What you can do to stick to your goals
Don't think of your resolutions as an instant life style change, rather than something to work towards
Imagine that vision and keep working towards it, you may have failures along the way, but just learn from it, don't let it deter you.
Set your big goals and then smaller goals of how to get there. Otherwise you can get left overwhelmed
Take the support you need
If it ain't broke don't fix it! You don't need to reinvent your self each year, just build on what you have.
Above all believe in yourself and keep that vision alive!
