Struggling to find time to get out on your bike?

Do you find that you are struggling with finding the time to get your cycling in?

You try to use up every spare minute and energy you have to put into cycling, then you struggle to stick with it?

Do you cycle loads one week, then have no energy to even find the time the next week?

Do you find that something is always coming up so that you are missing out on getting on your bike?

This all sounds quite exhausting, right?

Fail to plan plan to fail

If you spend a little time planning when you go out each week, you are more likely to stick to it. Block the time off in your calendar. What you want is consistency. If realistically you can only get out 2-3 times a week, set yourself this goal. The worst thing you want is to put in a mega week of training and then do nothing for one to two weeks. When you have mastered consistency you will learn a lot about yourself, in terms of your lifestyle, how you prioritize your time and also from a training point of few what areas of cycling you are good at and what you want to get better at.

Overtraining is one of the biggest causes for you to stop. That week that you went out everyday and pushed yourself could cost you a few weeks of quality cycling. Training too much will make you feel unmotivated and make you cycle slower, which will make you feel even less motivated.

If you find yourself paralysed by choice have a coach do it for you. Our coaches at Girls Get Strong Cycling not only listen to your goals, but what is stopping you from achieving them. We then plan for success with the right training for the time you have available.
