Why Stop Cycling Over Winter?

Depending on where you live, you maybe realising that summer is coming to and end. What does this mean to our cycling that we have so much enjoyed over the summer months?

Many of us I'm sure have gotten into some great routines over the winter and have gotten out for some winter miles or sweated it out on our indoor trainers. But I expect there are some of us that with all good intentions drop off from cycling until the spring.


Here's some words of motivation to help you continue cycling all year:

  • You love cycling

  • Overall it's going to improve your fitness

  • There are options to cycle indoors if you can't face the cold

  • The camaraderie when cycling outdoors all year

  • It can get you outdoors and enjoy nature when it's needed with less daylight and generally more time indoors.

  • You are going to be such a stronger cyclist the next season.


Here to tips to help you get through the winter on the bike

  • Be disciplined, with less hours of daylight, it can take it bit more structure.

  • Have a routine and stick to it

  • There's help out there get the support of a coach.

  • Ride indoors or outdoors. But have a plan, have the right kit and equipment and stick to it.

  • Go traveling to warmer climates and make sure you train for it
